Legal Terms & Disclosures
Effective Date: September 2026
Discovery Depth is an investigative intelligence division of M. Edwards & Associates. Discovery Depth provides investigative research services primarily for attorneys, law firms, and other approved professional clients.
Professional Use
Services are intended for lawful investigative, litigation-support, legal, professional, due-diligence, or related business purposes.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that their requested use of information complies with applicable federal, state, and local law, court rules, ethical obligations, contractual restrictions, and professional requirements.
Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
Discovery Depth is not intended to operate as a consumer reporting agency for purposes governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar consumer-reporting laws.
Discovery Depth reports should not be used for employment screening, tenant screening, credit eligibility, insurance eligibility, or other purposes requiring a legally compliant consumer report unless Discovery Depth has expressly agreed in writing to provide a separately compliant service for that purpose.
Information Availability
Information availability varies by jurisdiction, source, record type, subject, database, agency, and time period.
Certain information may be restricted, unavailable, incomplete, delayed, outdated, sealed, expunged, removed, inaccessible, misindexed, or otherwise unavailable.
Not every category of information described on this website will be available for every subject or in every jurisdiction.
No particular result, record category, database hit, social-media profile, address, criminal record, court record, business record, property record, news article, or other investigative finding is guaranteed.
Source Accuracy
Discovery Depth relies on information obtained from third-party databases, government records, courts, public records, media sources, websites, social-media platforms, open-source resources, and other sources.
These sources may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, conflicting information, or incorrect associations.
Discovery Depth does not warrant that third-party source information is complete, error-free, current, or independently verified.
Verification of Material Information
Information that may materially affect litigation strategy, testimony, credibility, settlement decisions, court filings, employment decisions, financial decisions, or other significant actions should be independently verified when appropriate before reliance.
Social Media and Online Research
Social-media, online-profile, and open-source findings are based on publicly accessible information and other lawful investigative resources available at the time research is performed.
Discovery Depth does not guarantee that an identified profile belongs to a particular subject unless sufficient identifying information exists to support that conclusion.
Negative News and Media
Negative-news and adverse-media findings may include published reports, allegations, accusations, lawsuits, arrests, investigations, commentary, or other third-party reporting. The existence of such reporting does not establish that the underlying information is true.
Discovery Depth does not adopt, endorse, or independently verify every statement appearing in third-party media sources.
Investigator Analysis
Investigator Analysis is a professional investigative assessment of available information. It may identify relationships, inconsistencies, patterns, potential leads, or areas for additional investigation.
Investigator Analysis is not a legal conclusion, expert opinion, financial opinion, or guarantee of identity, intent, conduct, or credibility.
Rush Service
Rush Service provides priority handling but does not guarantee that every source, jurisdiction, database, court, government office, website, or third-party provider will respond or provide information within a particular time.
Payment and Acceptance of Requests
Submission of a report request does not automatically create an obligation for Discovery Depth to accept or perform the assignment.
Discovery Depth may review requests for scope, legality, identifying information, availability, conflicts, or other concerns before accepting payment or beginning research.
Unless otherwise arranged through an approved firm account, research begins after payment is received and the request is accepted.
Turnaround Times
Any turnaround time stated on the website, in correspondence, or in connection with a report is an estimate unless specifically guaranteed in writing.
Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for providing accurate identifying information and for reviewing submitted information before requesting research.
Discovery Depth is not responsible for research errors resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or incorrect identifying information supplied by the client.
Confidentiality
Discovery Depth treats client and matter information as professional business information and uses reasonable measures to protect confidential information.
Confidentiality may be subject to legal process, applicable law, professional obligations, data-provider restrictions, or circumstances necessary to perform requested services.
Third-Party Services
Discovery Depth may use third-party payment processors, data providers, hosting services, communications providers, contractors, and other vendors in connection with operating the service.
Third-party services are subject to their own terms, privacy policies, availability, and technical limitations.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Discovery Depth and M. Edwards & Associates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from reliance on third-party information, unavailable records, incomplete records, source errors, website interruptions, or investigative findings.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, any liability shall be limited to the amount paid for the specific Discovery Depth service giving rise to the claim, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
No Attorney-Client Relationship
Use of the Discovery Depth website, submission of a report request, or receipt of investigative services does not create an attorney-client relationship with Discovery Depth or M. Edwards & Associates.
Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of Discovery Depth after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
